Why is Eva's Café located inside a church?
Eva's Café is housed within the former Wesleyan Methodist Church, one of Darwin's oldest surviving heritage buildings. Originally shipped from Adelaide in numbered pieces and erected in Knuckey Street in 1897, the church was purpose-built to withstand the tropical climate, termites and cyclones. Over the next century it survived the Bombing of Darwin during World War II, more than 19 cyclones and many years of neglect before being carefully relocated and restored in the George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens in 2000–2001. Today, it offers one of the most unique café experiences in the Northern Territory. Read more about the Territories oldest church HERE

Their former residence, known as The Myilly Point Heritage Precinct, remains an important part of Darwin's history.
